Sanctify God’s Name Among the Nations by Telling People God Cannot Do Evil

Matthew 6:9  “You must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.

To act in harmony with this part of your prayers, if someone says God can do something evil, if terrorists boast they are doing God’s will, or if someone talks about hellfire or anything like that, set them straight.  God cannot do evil.

Psalms 11:5 Jehovah examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one; He hates anyone who loves violence.

The Mistake that All Religions Make

The roots of false religion are founded on the idea that God can and will do evil if he wants to or tells people to.

The Precepts of God – Why it is Impossible for God to Perform an Evil Act

Precept – a general rule intended to regulate behavior or thought

The precepts of God are perfect in the absolute sense.

God’s decisions are perfect and based on his predominant attribute of Love, balanced with Wisdom, Power and Justice absolutely and perfectly.

1 John 4:8 God is love.

He is the personification of love.

Therefore all of God’s decisions are perfect.

God only does what is right.

James 1:13 With evil, God cannot be tried nor does he try anyone

Death may be called “an evil” but God causing a death may not be called an evil act.

In the Bible there is something known as “calling down evil”. Again, God will only do what is right.

Yehowah cannot perform an evil act, regardless of the definition of evil used.

If Yehowah causes death, it is because it is the right thing to do.

What happens to a person may be called “an evil”, but an act of God cannot be called evil.

To say God can perform an evil act is to blame God unjustly.  This is known as a blaspheme.

If anything sounds cruel in the Bible, it is human cruelty, not from God.

IF you are experiencing something bad it might be one of the following:

  • human imperfection (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
  • the world system of things (it’s set up by Satan, frustration is inevitable 1 John 5:19)
  • time and unforeseen events (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
  • technology used in a malicious way
  • Satan and the demons (Revelation 12:10-12) as well as humans who cooperate with Satan and the demons (known as agents, note: not law enforcement or government agents)

God cannot perform an evil act is the ultimate thing to understand and it must be understood by everybody.

Everything Yehowah does is perfect. All his ways are justice. He is a God of faithfulness who is never unjust. He is righteous and upright, which means he always does the right thing. (Deuteronomy 32:4)

Deuteronomy 32:4 The Rock, perfect is his activity, For all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness who is never unjust; Righteous and upright is he.

Human Precepts

If you learn Yehowah’s precepts, you make good decisions and your thoughts and behavior are a certain way. If you don’t, you have an accumulation of life experience and religious ideas that produce imperfect thoughts and behavior. And to complicate things even further we have inherited imperfection from Adam and Eve and live in a world system which is imperfect and ungodly. Problems are inevitable.

God’s Wisdom

Yehowah has more than knowledge. He also sees how facts interrelate and discerns the overall picture that is created by myriad details. He evaluates and judges, distinguishing between good and bad, important and trivial. Moreover, he looks beyond the surface and peers right into the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) Thus, Yehowah has understanding and discernment, qualities that are superior to knowledge. But wisdom is of a still higher order.

Wisdom brings knowledge, discernment, and understanding together and puts them to work. In fact, some of the original Bible words translated “wisdom” literally mean “effectual working” or “practical wisdom.” So Yehowah’s wisdom is not merely theoretical. It is practical, and it works. Drawing upon his breadth of knowledge and his depth of understanding, Yehowah always makes the best decisions possible, carrying them out by means of the best course of action conceivable. That is true wisdom! Yehowah demonstrates the truth of Jesus’ statement: “Wisdom is proved righteous by its works.” (Matthew 11:19) Yehowah’s works throughout the universe give powerful testimony to his wisdom.
